INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS
FORMATTING YOUR PAPER OR POSTER ABSTRACT
Papers may be up to 12 pages in length, excluding the bibliography
and any supplemental appendices. Authors are encouraged to attach to
their paper supplemental appendices containing study materials
(e.g. surveys) that would not otherwise fit within the body of the
paper. Papers must be no more than 20 pages including bibliography
and appendices. Papers must use the SOUPS proceedings template [MS Word] [LaTeX]. (Appendixes need not be
formatted with this template.)
Poster abstracts should be at most 2 8.5x11 pages, using the SOUPS
poster template. Please prepend the word "Poster:" to your
poster title (for example, "Poster: On the Usability of Secret
Decoder Rings"). All final submissions must be in PDF format.
You are welcome to add additional permission statements or a Creative Commons license.
SUBMITTING YOUR PAPER
The final camera ready version of your paper is due June 24,
2013. To upload your final manuscript, please visit the SOUPS submission website.
.
Upload poster abstracts on the poster
submission website.
ACM PERMISSIONS FORM
All SOUPS papers will be published in the ACM Digital
Library. Therefore, we must have a signed permission form from all
authors. You will receive an email from ACM with information about
uploading your permissions form. Note that this applies to full papers only, and not to poster abstracts.
POSTERS
We will include poster abstracts on the web
site. However, poster authors also need to prepare an actual poster
for the SOUPS poster session. We will provide easels that can
accommodate a poster up to A0 size -- 33.1 in wide and 46.8 tall (these dimensions cannot be rotated). You are welcome to bring a
poster of whatever size you want up to this size. We have rigid boards
for attaching your poster, so just bring your poster rolled up. Your poster should NOT be a print-out of your poster abstract
or paper. Please use large fonts, brief text, graphs, and figures to
provide an overview of your work. You may bring a laptop or
other equipment for demos. If you will need a table for your demo
and/or a power outlet, please let the poster chairs know in
advance.
