Symposium On Usable Privacy and Security

VENUE

SOUPS 2009 will be held at Google Headquarters, at the Critenden campus, 1300 Crittenden Lane in Mountain View, CA. If you are arriving by car, park in any of the Google lots at 1300 Crittenden Lane and look for the SOUPS signs directing you to the registration desk.

Google is located approximately 24 miles from San Francisco International Airport, 11 miles from San Jose International Airport, and 33 miles from Oakland International airport. Super Shuttle provides shared van service from these airports to Mountain View.

As of June 9, the hotel has lowered their rates for conference attendees.

Hotel

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Wild Palms Hotel, which is located in Sunnyvale, about 6 miles from Google. Register online for the conference rate of $79/night (or call the hotel and ask for the "SOUPS" rate). The conference rate is available until June 15, 2009.

Shuttle

A shuttle will be available between the hotel and Google in the morning and afternoon of each conference day according to the following schedule:

Wednesday, July 15:

• Shuttle will pick up at Wild Palms at 7:45 am, 8:15 am, and 8:45 am and take participants to Google
• Shuttle will pick up at Computer History Museum at 8 pm, 8:45 pm, and 9:30 pm and take participants to Wild Palms

Thursday, July 16:

• Shuttle will pick up at Wild Palms at 7:45 am, 8:15 am, and 8:45 am and take participants to Google
• Shuttle will pick up at Google at 7:30 pm and 8 pm and take participants to Wild Palms

Friday, July 17:

• Shuttle will pick up at Wild Palms at 7:45 am, 8:15 am, and 8:45 am and take participants to Google
• Shuttle will pick up at Google at 3:45 pm and take participants to Wild Palms
• Shuttle will pick up at Google main campus (a 15-minute walk from the conference site) after the lab tour at 4:45 pm and take participants to Wild Palms

Local attractions

The Computer History Museum is walking distance from Google (about a mile away). The city of San Francisco is about 35 miles away, accessible by Caltrain. More locally, Castro Street is a good place to go to grab a bite to eat in Mountain View. Stanford is nearby in Palo Alto, and University Ave in Palo Alto is a good place to grab a bite to eat there.
