Created in five days by a dozen\u00a0women, this book represents the capstone to\u00a0<a title=\"Deep Lab\" href=\"http:\/\/studioforcreativeinquiry.org\/projects\/deep-lab\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Deep Lab<\/em><\/a>, a residency hosted\u00a0by the Frank-Ratchye STUDIO for Creative Inquiry\u00a0in collaboration with CMU\u2019s\u00a0CyLab\u00a0Usable Privacy and Security Lab. During the second week of December 2014, the Deep Lab\u00a0participants\u2014a group of internationally acclaimed new-media\u00a0artists, information designers, data scientists, software engineers,\u00a0hackers, writers, journalists and theoreticians\u2014gathered to engage\u00a0in critical assessments of contemporary digital culture. They\u00a0worked collaboratively at the STUDIO in an accelerated pressure\u00a0project, blending aspects of a booksprint, hackathon, dugnad,\u00a0charrette, and a micro-conference.
