Homework 8
Print your homework out and submit it in person at the start of class (3:00pm) on Thursday, April 2nd. Homework will not be accepted after 3:00pm on that day.
- Part 1 (40 points): In class on March 19th, you began working on designing a smartphone privacy notice for a hypothetical new location-sharing feature in an activity that was shared with us by Facebook. Finish this design on your own. Turn in:
- A paper prototype of your notice (using as many or as few screens as necessary).
- One or two paragraphs describing your primary design goals.
- One paragraph describing what you learned from your prototyping.
- Part 2 (20 points): Your project group should turn in a draft introduction for your team's research paper. Note that the introduction should briefly introduce the problem domain, motivate and state your particular research question(s), briefly discuss what you did, and provide a few highlights of your results.
Since no group has concrete results, a placeholder for your results (e.g., "highlights of results go here") suffices for that part. One submission per group, please.
- Part 3 (20 points): For Homework 5, each project group member wrote an individual draft of a partial related work section. Your group should turn in a single related work section that synthesizes group members' individual drafts. One submission per group, please.
- Part 4 (20 points): For Homework 7, each project group member wrote an individual draft of a methodology section. Your group should turn in a single methodology section that synthesizes the best part of group members' individual drafts. One submission per group, please.
- Part 5 (9-unit students should not do this part. 12-unit students will receive between 0 and 30 points for this part): Write a 3--7 sentence summary and short "highlight" for one optional reading assigned for each of the following classes (2 optional readings total): March 31st and April 2nd.
